Your snake needs to have a clean environment in order to stay healthy, and it is your job to make sure this happens. While regular spot cleanings are needed on a frequent basis, more thorough cleanings are also a must. How can you do this efficiently?

First, find an alternate place for your snake to relax while you tend to his cage. Next, remove everything from your snake’s habitat and discard anything that can’t be properly sanitized, like leftover substrate. With the exception of the electrical elements of the habitat, wash everything with warm soapy water and rinse well. Sanitize these items and be sure to rinse again.
